COVID-19 precautions to keep you smiling
At Griffith Family Dental, your safety and health is always our top priority. We take great care to ensure stringent safety and cleanliness precautions are in place. With current events and COVID-19 precautions at front-of-mind, we are taking extra steps to ensure you continue to have access to our care.

You will notice all our team members, including the front desk, wearing masks at all times– not just during treatment. This is a precautionary measure to protect our patients from respiratory droplets. Frequently contacted surfaces such as door handles, iPads, and the front desk are wiped after each use. Our treatment rooms are always thoroughly disinfected after each patient using “universal precautions” meaning we disinfect each room following protocols as if the previous occupant had an unknown pathogen. Tools are sterilized, masks changed, surfaces wiped, gowns disposed, coverings replaced and we are ready to provide a safe and clean environment for the next patient.

We have installed HEPA air filtration throughout the office as an extra layer of safety, as well as localized aerosol suction/filtration machines.

Griffith Family Dental

Serving the Sunnyvale Area for over 70 years, Griffith Family Dental is among the most established, most experienced dental practices in the SF Bay Area. We are able to accommodate and treat even some of the most complex cases in either our AAAHC certified ambulatory surgical center or at El Camino Hospital, where Dr. Amy and Dr. Paul have admission privileges.

Dr. Paul Griffith, the 3rd generation Griffith Sunnyvale dentist and was born and raised locally. His two daughters followed the family path and share their passion of providing quality dental care.

Dr. Amy is the 4th generation Griffith Sunnyvale dentist and has particular expertise in cosmetic and emergency treatment. For 30+ years, Dr. Paul has gone to numerous seminars, now along with Dr. Amy, and consults with different specialists to develop unique ways to treat those with fears, anxiety, highly complex needs, and special needs. Their goal is to gather a group of doctors who share the same passion and interests to take on challenges, better their skills, and help more patients.

In 2013, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Shuba Anantha to our office. Dr. Shuba practiced in Chicago for 10 years before moving to the Bay Area. Her breadth of expertise, calm nature, and creative problem solving have made her an incredible provider to our patients.

Griffith Family Dental is awesome. Not just because they know how to clean your teeth, but because they take the extra time and effort to inform and educate you on what is best for your daily hygiene when trying to maintain healthy teeth and a beautiful smile. This is not the "regular" type of dentist office. So A+ to Griffith Family Dental!

Best experience I've had at a dentist. The staff was really kind and respectful from the start to the end which made my visit so enjoyable. I left feeling more than satisfied and very grateful for their hard work. I would recommend Paul Griffith, DDS to anyone searching for a dental office, I'd say look no further. Dr Amy who attended me was incredibly kind and gentle, I felt well taken care of and informed. Thank you very much to the entire team for such a great experience and I look forward to my next visit.

My son was extremely petrified of going to the dentist, so much so that 3 different dentists referred us to dentists who use restraints. Then, I was referred to dr. Paul. His patience and understanding was just what my son needed. He let him explore the office and the tools and try them out himself and my son now refers to him as his "friend, dr. Paul." his urgent dental surgery went beautifully without any complications and I highly recommend this office and their services.

I took my nephew here after 11 dentist visits where he was unable to get over the hump of uncontrollable fears of dental work. Dr. Paul and Dr. Amy were patient and kind. They have many creative ways to calm and redirect fear in the process of their work in the child's mouth. I am most impressed with their work and generosity of time and gentleness.

After a bad experience with her regular dentist, my daughter was absolutely terrified of seeing any dentist. She was in desperate need of dental work, and I couldn't even get her to sit in the chair. Then I was referred to Dr. Paul. He was amazing. He has so much patience, he is so gentle, and honest. He was able to renew my daughters faith in dentists. I was so impressed, he is now my regular dentist too. Child or adult, if you're afraid of the dentist, Dr. Paul is your man!

I went to Dr. Paul a number of years ago (2008 as I recall) on the recommendation of a coworker and he took on my problems as if they were the singular issue of his day. He explained all of the possibilities, showed me all of the technical information on the different types of restorations available, and discussed with me the likelihood of success with each one. He was also honest about what was just unknown and was ready to try to figure it out. I've taken his advice and he's kept me pain free. And he remembers all of the things we did to solve the problems...it's not like just reading from a file, he actually remembers. I've also seen Dr. Shuba since she came onboard and she is just as thorough, knowledgeable, and explanatory as Dr. Paul. It's hard to get a 5 star rating out of me because there's generally always some deficiency. Not so here. I wouldn't change a thing!

We have been going to this practice as a family for years now. Griffith Family Dental was referred to us by family friends and they raved about the practice. We have been very happy with choosing them as our dentists. They are very professional, the hygienists are very good and friendly, and the office staff is very helpful. We have never felt being rushed off the office to make room for the next patient. When we go to their office, the entire staff comes across as one family, and that is great to see in any workplace these days. Makes the experience of going to a dentist less painful 🙂

I asked my dentist who he would recommend for me to take my 41 year old Special Needs daughter to for her first visit to the dentist. He said Dr. Paul Griffith. I made the first appointment and was impressed in how he was concerned for her well being. Yesterday, she went in for sedation dentistry. I sat and watched the procedure. Dr. Paul Griffith was professional, compassionate and thorough. If we were to do this all over, I would make the same decision and go to Dr. Paul! He called about 9PM last night to ask how she was doing. Not many do that. If you have a need for sedation dentistry, see Dr. Paul Griffith. He had Dr. Alex Targ, Mobile Anesthesia. Very Professional and very thorough.

Dr. Paul was wonderful with my 4-year-old son, who was afraid of dentists after a bad experience with a local pediatric dentist. Dr. Paul was very patient with my son, explained everything in a way he could understand, and successfully did a full cleaning (unlike the pediatric dentist!). Yay for Dr. Paul!

Dr. Paul was amazing with my 3 1/2 year old son on his first visit to the dentist. I had bad experiences as a child at the dentist, and didn't want my son to have similar experiences, so finding a dentist who was very patient, good with kids and not at all shaming was very important to me. I also have a sensitive, strong willed child, so I needed someone who wouldn't get frustrated with him too easily. I found exactly what I was looking for in Dr. Paul. He truly has a gift with children. He was so patient, playing games with each tool he introduced, (doing "magic" with his suction tool and water squirter, making a face on his glove finger who he used as a puppet etc.), and completely went at my son's pace. My son was cooperative and had the time he needed to get used to sitting in the chair, getting his teeth looked at, and having tools in his mouth. I wish all kids could have such a patient, skilled and caring pediatric dentist.

Amazing dental office. They treat my autistic son who is nonverbal and still in diapers. Dr. Griffith has the patients of a saint. The doctor and staff has made Jackson so comfortable he doesn't mind going. I highly recommend them especially since there are two generations working there and I know I can count on them for excellent dental health care. ( plus the kids room rocks)
